Lindy Fix is a healthy and fun social activity in a friendly environment. Everyone dances with everyone, and you don’t need to know what you’re doing. A half hour beginner lesson from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. starts the evening, which is usually in east coast swing. This will cover some basics to get you on the dance floor, and if you have questions later during the dance, any Swing Buffalo instructor will be happy to help. The lesson is followed by an hour and a half of social dancing. It is only four dollars (unless there is a live band). Those nights, along with the price, will be posted on this website. One does not need a partner to come, or special clothing. Some people like to dress-up a little, some people come in jeans and tee shirts. The only thing we recommend for beginners are flat or low-heeled, comfortable shoes; if they have smooth soles, that is best, but not necessary. Sneakers will work in a pinch. At Swing Buffalo, we try to be friendly and as inclusive as possible. All of our events are designed to benefit the community of jazz dance: all budget surpluses are re-invested back into the events we run, and we are all volunteers.
* Our goal is to have Lindy Fix every Tuesday at the Polish Cadets Hall, but for some reasons beyond our power, some Lindy Fixes will be at different venues or possibly on different days of the week due to venue conflicts. Alternate information for those dates will appear as links at the top of the page.
